TEA Pipe

TEA Pipe is a comprehensive and powerful software package for analysis of many type of hoses, cables and pipes ( for example, brake cables in a car, or air and water hoses around a motor) . TEA Pipe users can analyse the behavior of pipes from a CATIA V5 environment. They can easily obtain the deformed shape, curvatures, efforts, and collisions information for successive configurations. TEA Pipe Beam takes into account the non-linear geometrical behavior of pipes. A variety of pipe details ( supports, reinforcements, spirals...) and kinematical description ( simple or Imported from DMU Kinematic) is available. TEA Pipe Shell will then simulate local deformations due to ovalization or local buckling. It will also take into account vulcanization process of pre-shaped hoses. TEA Pipe allows the use of a Pipe Manufacturer Database. Material behavior can also be defined in a database. The pipe connectors and supports can be defined on points and geometries from any CATIA V5 models. Distance measurement between the deformed shape and the surrounding surfaces allows users to detect possible collisions. Wheel rotations and translations can be taken into account from simple kinematic definition. But when using advanced kinematical definition, complex movements can be imported from DMU Kinematics and the pipe is calculated, taking into account dynamics ( inertia, damping) . With TEA Pipe, the optimal length, the connector positions and orientations can be found, while checking collisions or curvatures. Deformed pipes obtained as results can then be exported to create a new pipe shape which can be used as an input foir further analysis. TEA Pipe benefits from advanced visualization tools of CATIA V5, allowing efficient and straightforward pre- and post-processing of non-linear mechanical analyses. The results that can be post-processed include deformed mesh, nodal normal distance, curvature, force, moment and successive configurations.
