SAMCEF Non-Linear Motion enables you to model any articulated mechanism in a transient simulation. The model can be created by non-linear flexible beams, Super Elements, or rigid bodies linked through rigid or flexible kinematic joints ( hinge, slider, gear, universal, cylindric… ) , as well as specific elements ( wheel, general non-linear forces… ) . The relative motion in the kinematic joints is controlled by a number of functionalities such as springs, dampers, contacts, prescribed movement, etc. The solution allows to improve the dynamic properties of the mechanism. SAMCEF Non-Linear Motion is mainly use for pre-design and for applications for which components can be assumed rigid or replaced by beams. You can compute dynamic loads of mechanism and use these results as input for local structural analyses. The originality of this multi-body approach is fully integrated in an Implicit Finite Element theory. Combined with SAMCEF Non-Linear Structure module, this solution is very powerful since it allows to replace rigid bodies by meshed flexible components. This allows to take into account local non-linearities ( pre-stressed components, contact friction between two flexible components, hyperelastic materials, etc) . Features SAMCEF Non-Linear Motion offers you the ability to build flexible articulated mechanisms as well as classical multi-body software.
